Cafe Hayek — where orders emerge: "Jobs does not come across as a monster. He comes across as a self-centered insensitive visionary whose self-centeredness, but not cruelty, hurts others. His self-centeredness is that of a child who never quite grew up. But he is a self-centered insensitive visionary that a lot of people want to be around. I have known many people like that–people who give little to others but they are so charismatic or successful, that people put up with their personal flaws."

His arrogance always turned me off. Maybe that's why I've never owned an Apple product.
A number of people in my life currently fit a similar description. One in particular, cheated often on his wife until they separated, lazy, and frequently lies to get out of a pickle. He took up smoking in his 30s. But he's very funny, personable and charismatic, so unless you know him, well you'll never know these other things about him. As a result he's a great business generator.
First I thought we were pretty good friends, just because he has the ability to make everyone think they are his friend. Took me many years to figure out we were not really friends--or at least he did not consider me a friend. Then I really despise how he could get away with seemingly everything. But now I just don't care.
