The Unbroken Window

The Unbroken Window: "By the way, it took a dozen years to rebuild a single building when an entire country supports that getting done. Remember this when folks believe we can rebuild the entire US energy infrastructure in the next 30 years using “green” energy. It took 60 years in a far less restrictive legal and economic environment to build out that much infrastructure and that was using “conventional” fuels.

Have a lovely weekend."

Is the rebuilding of the WTC the best comparison? Maybe building skyscrapers is harder than running pipes and power lines. Plus much of that delay was in deciding what plan to go with.

And who says the entire US energy infrastructure needs to be rebuild in order to transition to green energy?

I think his point was less about the engineering problem and more about the political problem. Democracy is not an efficient method for decision making.
